Charles W. Mitchell

Charles W. Mitchell, 97, passed away December 16, 2019 at Bickford Senior Living in Raytown, MO. He was born on March 31, 1922 in Kansas City, MO, the son of Anna Mae and Lonnie Mitchell and had seven brothers and two sisters. Charles married Lois E. Mitchell and was married for 70 years before she passed in January of 2019.

Charles went to school at R.T. Coles and joined the U.S. Army during WWII earning and Honorary Discharge. He was a Member of St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church for 60 years. Charles retired from Caterpillar, Inc. after working there for 35 years. Survivors include his brother Ralph Mitchell, Sr.; daughter Sandra E. Colbert; son Charles W. Mitchell, Jr. (Freddie); son Michael A. Mitchell (Angela); grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 9AM, service 10AM, Saturday, December 21 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd.; burial in Forest Hill Cemetery.
