Donald L. Moon

Donald Lugean Moon, 92, a longtime Liberty resident, passed away October 23, 2019, at his home. He was born January 29, 1927, in Florence, MO. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 until 1946, and later in the U.S. Army until receiving honorable discharge in 1956. He was a life member of the Sugar Creek VFW Post 3976. Don was united in marriage to Rose Patricia (Calnan) McMichael on November 25, 1961 and they purchased their farm in Liberty in 1964. She preceded Don in death on August 17, 2013 after 52 years of marriage. Don was also preceded in death by his parents, Elsie and Mary Moon, Rachel (Carver) and William Young; and three brothers, Glen, Wilber and Warren. Don was a retired mechanic and member of the Teamsters.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm, followed by funeral services at 2:00 pm, on Monday, October 28, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, Liberty. Burial with military honors will follow in Glenridge Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Liberty Animal Shelter.
