Mary Joyce Morgan (Leonard), 93, of Raytown went to her eternal home on October 25, 2020 at St. Luke’s East Hospital in Lee’s Summit.
Joyce was born on September 3, 1927 in Wheaton, Illinois to Elton Gordon and Mary Frances Leonard. She was married to Donald David Moore from December 20, 1947 until his death on June 26, 1966. Together, they had five children. She married Wilbur Morgan on December 22, 1969.
Joyce was an active member of the Calvary Assembly of God Church for many years. She had a deep love for her church, her pastor, and her Lord and Savior Jesus. She was known for her gentle compassion, her sassy sense of humor and her always color-coordinated outfits and jewelry.
Joyce was a voracious reader, and was always working on a word search or a jigsaw puzzle. She made dolls for her grandchildren and was an avid collector of dolls as well. She sewed many articles of clothing and completed many paint embroidery projects through the years.
Joyce is survived by three children, David Moore (Karen) of Manchester, CT, Mary Beth Faulkner of Raytown, MO, Patti Bohning (Bob) of Apache Junction, AZ; 9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald David Moore and second husband, Wilbur Morgan; sons Stephen Gordon Moore and Kenneth Wayne Moore, her seven siblings Gordon Leonard, Harvey Leonard, Marjorie Ramsey, Phyllis Simpson, Richard Leonard, Ray Leonard and Lois Leonard and one granddaughter, JoAnn Moore.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at 11:00am at River Church Family, 6400 Woodson Rd, Raytown, MO.
