William "Billy" Muzquiz was born April 20, 1958 in Kansas City, MO to Heriberto and Mary Lucy Muzquiz. Bill grew up in the Westside community, moved to the Turner community in Kansas City, Kansas, and spent his retirement years at McKenna Villa community at The Lake of the Ozarks. He was a simple, hard-working, family man and worked several years as a metal finisher at MPP. Bill was a sports fanatic and a true Kansas City Chiefs fan. He loved spending time with his children and their families. His biggest joy in life was sharing his lake house for all to come and enjoy. Bill loved to sit back and watch everyone smile. He was a compassionate, honest, respectful, non-judgmental man. Although he was a man of few words, Bill had true words just when you needed to hear them. He will be missed by many.
He is survived by his wife Della Muzquiz; daughter Crystal Taylor (Jerry); son William "Bill" Muzquiz Jr. (Tessie); brother Heriberto "Eddie" Muzquiz Jr. (Lucy); sisters: Margaret Martinez (Frank), Patricia "Patsy" Muzquiz and Beatrice “BeaBea” Salazar; six grandchildren: Elena Garcia, Christopher "Chris" Garcia, William "Drew" Perez Muzquiz, Isabella "Izzy" Muzquiz, Genevieve "Genny" Taylor and Antonio Muzquiz; one great granddaughter Colette Smith; 13 nieces, 8 nephews and several great nieces and great nephews. Billy was preceded in death by his parents Heriberto & Mary "Lucy" Muzquiz; brothers Gilbert "Buckas" Muzquiz, Arnold "Woods" Muzquiz; infant brother Heriberto Muzquiz; two infant nieces and one infant great-niece.
Due to COVID restrictions, masks are required at the visitation and service. Visitation will be 9:30-10:45AM, Mass of Christian burial at 11AM, Wednesday, November 18 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine, 901 Avenida Cesar Chavez, Kansas City, MO; inurnment 12PM, Saturday, November 21 in Memorial Park Cemetery.
