Nancy C. Sherrick

NANCY C. SHERRICK

          Nancy Carol (Kelly) Sherrick, 80, a longtime Liberty resident, passed peacefully on May 4, 2024, at Liberty Hospital with family at her side.

          Nancy was born August 10, 1943, in Hannibal, MO, the fourth of five children of Martin and Ruby (Snell) Kelly. She graduated from Hannibal High School in 1961. Nancy was united in marriage to Sherman Walker Sherrick on February 16, 1963, and they were blessed with three children, Lisa, Paul, and David.  

          Nancy worked more than 30 years at William Jewell College, retiring as Assistant to the President in 2005.  Nancy was a member of Liberty Church of Christ and volunteered at Liberty Hospital.   She was a former member of the Soroptimist Club.

          Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Ruby; her husband of 44 years, Sherman; and three older brothers, Frank Kelly, Melvin Kelly, and Earl Kelly.  

          Survivors include her children, Lisa Bastob (John Jr.), Paul Sherrick (Joan), and David Sherrick (Rebecca Kidwell); grandchildren, John Bastob III (Jackie), Kathryn Brown (Joseph), Olivia Sherrick, Raechel Sherrick, Jenna Fernandez (Jesus), Elijah Baker, and Anna Baker; great grandchildren, Jaiden, Jaxon, and Border; sister, Virginia Van Sickle (Archie); sisters-in-law, Jackie Kelly and Carol Kelly; as well as nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.  

          Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, followed by a service celebrating Nancy’s life at 11:00 am, on Saturday, May 11, at Liberty Church of Christ, Liberty, MO, 1401 Glenn Hendren Drive, Liberty, MO 64068.

          In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Liberty Church of Christ, 1401 Glenn Hendren Drive, Liberty, MO 64068, or to the Kelly-Sherrick Endowed Scholarship Fund at William Jewell College, 500 College Hill, Liberty, MO 64068.
