Carol & Family So sorry for your loss. It has been a joy to have known Dick for so many years - from Waldo Avenue Baptist to Abundant Life. The Newport family was an important part of the Waldo family and being able to keep in touch through Dick's mother, then getting reacquainted with Dick & you at Abundant Life has been so great. I always look forward to seeing you both as we were leaving a service at Abundant Life and - when I am able be back in service after covid - I'll look forward to seeing you, Carol, as you walk forward with the Lord. God is so good - we will miss Dick - but knowing he is home with the Lord is a great comfort. Our prayers are with you and your family at this time and we are praying for our loving God comfort you in His mighty arms of love. Blessings....

The Newports lived across Mechanic Street from us in Independence for many years. I remember his parents bought the boys a pinball machined and I thought that was the coolest thing ever. Condolences to the family and friends.

Dick was such an easy going, kind and pleasant man. My heart goes out to Carol and other family members. Dick's life was one to be admired for the way he involved himself in service to others, through the Shrine. He set a good example for others, and now his reward is that he no longer has to suffer.

Carol, we are so sorry for your loss! We have so many fun memories with you and Dick in our small group and at all of our Royals baseball parties. Dick was so fun to be around. We will truly miss him and his beautiful smile! We are praying for you and the family at this very difficult time.
