Erica Lynne Newton, 44, of Holt Missouri, passed away peacefully on January 3rd, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

Erica was born December 4th, 1977, in Kansas City Missouri. She graduated from Raytown High School in 1996. In the Honors Program at Park University she earned her Bachelors of Science in Biology. She continued to pursue her interest in science as a chemist lab assistant, and later at a local lake community working with the improvement division and managing lake water quality. Erica married Nicholas Charles Newton, the love of her life, on July 15, 2007. She spent some time home schooling their boys, and went on to become an entrepreneur with many successful and unique business ventures.

Erica was preceded in death by her brother, Justin Brower. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Nick; sons Caleb, Ayden and Gabe; mother and step-father Trisha and Steve Nicholas; father and his wife James and Celia Brower; twin sister Sarah Tyler (Ryan); half-sister Melissa Brower; lots of loved nieces and nephews, and many other family members.

Erica was a devoted mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend. She cherished time with her family, cheering on her baseball boys, traveling, camping, hiking, gardening and exploring. She had a passion for volunteering, and especially loved her role as a Big Sister with Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Kansas City. Erica was intelligent, loving, creative, beautiful, brave, sweet, funny, and tough. She will forever be missed.

A celebration of her life will be held at a future date. A memorial fund for her children is being created in her honor. Contributions can be sent to Central Bank & Trust 1603 US 169 Hwy Smithville, MO 64089, or any of their locations.
