Roger Lee O'Roark, 73, passed away July 17, 2021, at his home in Liberty, with his wife Cheryl at his side.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, July 23, at Glenridge Cemetery, B Hwy. at Shepherd Road, Liberty, MO. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Tunnels to Towers (https.//t2t.org).
Roger was born November 21, 1947, in Flint, Michigan, the second of six children of Herald and Verna (Durham) O'Roark. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, receiving honorable discharge as SP5 on December 19, 1969. Roger retired from Southwestern Bell as a repairman. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Elks. Roger was a licensed pilot and enjoyed flying his ultralight and gyroplane. Following retirement, Roger worked as a flight instructor in Saudi Arabia and China.
Along with his parents, Roger was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Wilhelm, and nephew.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl; children, Tricia Ansari (Sam), Dana Compton (Randall), Stephanie Kenney (Thomas), Steven Wilhelm (Kristi) and Ashley Wilson (Jackson); ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He also leaves his siblings, Karen Allen, Cheryl McDonald, Gary O'Roark, Kevin O'Roark and Corey O'Roark, as well as their spouses and families.
