Cummons Fairie Esther Ozbun

Fairie Esther Ozbun Cummons, 92, peacefully passed away at St. Joseph Medical Center on August 8, 2018, after a few days of illness. Visitation from 1-2 PM followed by funeral services, Fri, Aug 10 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd, KCMO. Burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Fairie’s name to One Good Meal, c/o Roberta McArthur, PO Box 2222, Lee’s Summit, MO 64063.

Fairie was born August 14, 1925, to Marshall John and Mary Katherine (Writer) Ozbun in Tipton, MO. She grew up in Cassville, MO and graduated from Cassville High School. Shortly afterwards, she moved to Kansas City, where she worked at School Photo during the war years. In 1946, she married Olav Ray Cummons, also from Cassville, MO. They were married 54 years until Ray’s passing in 2000. They had two daughters Gloria Jean Cherafat & Connie Sue Kolie; 4 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
