Patsey S. Peterson

Patsey S. Peterson, 89, passed away peacefully at Kingswood Retirement Living on September 9, 2021. Patsey was born on October 23, 1931, in Kansas City, Missouri to Roy and Edna (Barnes) Massey. She was married to William Hemenway for 18 years. Later, she was married for over 48 years to the love of her life, Albert Peterson. Together, Patsey and Albert raised five children and traveled extensively all over the world. She was very active at her church, Red Bridge United Methodist, where she had been a member for over 40 years. Patsey was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Patsey was preceded in death by her husband Albert, her parents Roy and Edna Massey and her granddaughter Stephanie Hemenway. Survivors include her two children: Richard Hemenway and his wife Marilynn; daughter Karen Hemenway; stepchildren Jamie Ann Ashton and her husband Tom, Jennifer Peterson and Paul Peterson and his wife Sarah; grandchildren Kevin Hemenway and his wife Megan, Lisa Hemenway, Brennan Ashton and Ossian Peterson; and her great grandchildren Alex Barker and his wife Rebekah, Skye Barker, Paige Hemenway and Zoey Hemenway.

Visitation will be 10AM, with services to follow at 11AM, Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Red Bridge United Methodist Church, 636 E. 117th St., Kansas City, Missouri; private burial in Memorial Park Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Harvesters Community Food Network.
