Mary Louise (Turner) Petree, 81, of Independence, MO, passed away April 1, 2022, at Centerpoint Medical Center.
Mary was born April 23, 1940, in Willow Springs, MO, the eldest of five children of Earl and Norma Lea (Nelson) Turner. Along with her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her siblings, Shirley Stewart, Glenn Turner, Kenny Turner and Beverly Morales.
Mary graduated from Braymer High School. She worked 34 years as a waitress and bartender. She was united in marriage to Tom Petree on August 15, 1992. Mary had a passion for reading, baking, canning, and loved creating quilts for her children, grandchildren and others she loved.
Along with her husband Tom, Mary leaves her children and spouses, Brenda (Tracy) Wever of Mooresville, MO, Brent Wooden of Kansas City, MO, Jeff (Kathy) Petree of Braymer, MO, Mitzi (Clint) Coates of Bowling Green, MO, Jimmy Petree of Independence, MO, Danette (Scott) Hendrickson of Two Harbors, MN and Dedra Petree of Chillicothe, MO; 12 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, April 9, at Evergreen Cemetery in Braymer, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the St. Joseph Public Library, and may be sent to 927 Felix Street, St. Joseph, MO 64501.
