June Anita Pierce, age 96, passed away October 3, 2020. She was born July 18, 1924, to Ira and Lillie (Gore) Wagner in Edwardsville, KS.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Travis Pierce, and her son, John Patrick Phelan Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Patricia (Tom) Cabarga of Chapel Hill, NC, Anita Koontz of Blue Springs, MO, and Kathy (Mike) Roth of Ferguson, MO, and 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
June was an active member of Unity Temple on the Plaza and Unity Church of Independence for many years and also led a Course in Miracles Study Group. She retired from Central Parking Systems where she worked as a bookkeeper. She lived at The Little Sisters of the Poor for 17 years where she loved driving the Sisters and her neighbors to their appointments.
A special thanks is extended to the Sisters and staff at Little Sisters of the Poor Jeanne Jugan Center for their loving care of our mother.
