Gerald Lee Power, 81, a lifelong Liberty resident, joined his Lord and Savior on September 18, 2019. He passed away at his home with loved ones at his side. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm, followed by a service celebrating Jerry's life at 7:00 pm, on Thursday, September 26, at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, 1600 North State Route 291, Liberty. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
Jerry was born March 18, 1938, in Liberty, MO, one of six children of Paul and Roma (Bush) Power. He was a graduate of Liberty High School and received his Bachelor's degree from William Jewell College. He was united in marriage to Carol Sue Stalcup on December 11, 1960. Jerry worked 47 years in the grocery business, most recently for Price Chopper in Liberty. He is a 67-year member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.
Along with his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by a son, Gerald Lee Power, Jr.; and sisters, Judith Power and Jean Lillig. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Carol; children, Judy Nelson and Jeff Power (Sherri); brothers, Jim Power (Evonne) and Wayne Power (Judy); and sister, Pat Cecil (Ernie); as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
