Paul L. Preston

Paul L. Preston, 87, of Liberty, Missouri, joined his Lord in Heaven on Wednesday, July 7, 2021. He now rests peacefully with Patsy "Pat", his wife of 59 years. A Memorial Mass will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 19, 2021 at St. James Catholic Church in Liberty, Missouri. A visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at the church. Inurnment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Kansas City, Missouri. Memorials and contributions are suggested to St. James Catholic Church.

Paul was born on November 17, 1933 in Kansas City, Missouri to C. Albert Preston Sr. of Mussel Fork, Missouri and Amelia Ellen (Meyer) Preston of Odell, Illinois. He was raised on the family farm in Chariton County, Missouri. Paul married his high school sweetheart, Pat Guthrie in Marceline, Missouri, in 1955. Soon after he was drafted into the Navy at Long Beach, California, serving until October 1957. Paul and Pat settled in Roosterville, Missouri where he built their first home. He worked for ADT Security Systems for 40+ years. He loved traveling and spending time with his family and friends. He was always keeping busy fixing and building things.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Pat; and brothers, Charles Preston Jr. and Benjamin Preston. He is survived by son, Michael Paul Preston and his wife Laura of Liberty, MO; daughter, Kelly Jean Chasteen of Liberty, MO; and his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
