It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Priscilla Armstrong, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and true renaissance woman, who left this world peacefully on March 1, 2025 at the age of 85.
Priscilla was a devoted wife to her husband, Jesse Dean Armstrong Jr., with whom she shared 55 years of love and partnership. She was an invested and tireless mother to a blended family of five children and a proud grandmother to 14 grandchildren. She cherished every moment spent with her family, generously sharing her talents and teaching her children and grandchildren the joys of sewing, painting, baking, playing the piano, and horseback riding. Through these activities, she subtly imparted valuable life lessons in patience, persistence, and the importance of a strong work ethic, mentoring others with her quiet example.
Born in 1940, Priscilla graduated from Paseo High School in 1958, where she was involved in cheerleading, the National Honor Society, the Zeta Literary Society and Student Council. Dean has jokingly summed up Priscilla’s high school involvement as “Miss Everything”. A talented seamstress, she made her own clothes during her young adult years, showcasing her craftsmanship and sense of style. Priscilla was also an accomplished athlete, pianist, and artist. She approached every endeavor with curiosity, patience and her trademark perfectionism.
As a young wife and mother, Priscilla was a cornerstone in building her family’s life from the ground up. She and Dean worked together to construct their home, and she played an integral role in helping Dean start his manufacturing business, REMCO. Her support was instrumental in the growth of the business, which became a lasting testament to her dedication and partnership.
Although she had a personal dislike for cooking, baking sweet treats was one of Priscillas many talents. She had a remarkable ability to throw together dozens of cookies or several pies at a moment’s notice, without so much as glancing at a recipe. She most often called upon her baking skills in preparation to host large family gatherings, especially during the holidays. During these gatherings her home was filled with the sounds of laughter and the warmth of catching up with family. The evening often ended with the family gathered around the piano where Priscilla would play Christmas songs for an impromptu sing-along.
A lover of nature and all of God’s creatures, Priscilla had a special affection for horses. Her love for animals and the natural world was an important part of her life, and she shared this passion with her family. Whether riding horses, studying the birds who frequented her bird feeders, or simply appreciating the world around her, she found peace in nature.
Priscilla is survived by her husband, Jesse Dean Armstrong Jr., children Cheryl Gardner (Chris), Pam Armstrong, Mike Wilson (Amanda), Becky Snell, and Janell Rock (Brian), sister Patricia Phillips and brother Clifford Robinson (Dixie), and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A service will be held to honor her memory on Saturday, March 8, 2025, and in the spirit of Priscilla, all are welcome. Visitation will begin at 10am, at Park Lawn chapel, followed by a memorial service beginning at 11am.
