Frances DeAnn (Mellon) Pritchett, a devoted Christian, 76, of Lathrop, joined her Lord and Savior on August 31, 2020.

DeAnn was born August 1, 1944, in Kansas City, MO, the eldest of four daughters of James Mellon and Aletha (Moore) Mellon. DeAnn graduated from Lathrop High School in 1962. She was united in marriage to Roger Lay Pritchett on November 14, 1964, and they raised three sons, Jim, Patrick, and Matthew.

DeAnn was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Lathrop all her life, serving as Sunday School Superintendent, Vacation Bible School Coordinator, choir member and in many other capacities. She was also a member of the PEO Sisterhood. DeAnn’s career with the U.S. Postal Service at Lathrop spanned 41-plus years. She was also a substitute teacher, worked at Lathrop City Hall and served on the Cemetery Board.

Survivors include the love of her life for 55 years, Roger; sons, Jim Pritchett (Stephanie), Patrick Pritchett (Carrie) and Matthew Pritchett (Tori); grandchildren, Hannah, Joshua, Muluken, Loran, Dawit, Jessica, Ella, Benjamin, Daniel, Brayden, Chloe and Brianna; sisters, Susie Freece (Bill), Betty Moon (Alan) and Jane Mings (Tim); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, followed by a service celebrating DeAnn’s life at 12 noon, on Saturday, September 5, at the First Baptist Church of Lathrop. Burial will follow at Lathrop Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church General Fund.

Service Information:

Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, followed by a service celebrating DeAnn’s life at 12 noon, on Saturday, September 5, at the First Baptist Church of Lathrop. Burial will follow at Lathrop Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church General Fund.
