Ralph James Muirhead

Ralph James Muirhead passed away on Aug. 16, 2023, while in Hospice Care at the age of 101. Ralph was born on March 27, 1922, in British Columbia, Canada, and grew up on a farm. He began his adult life in Canada as a farmer and later became a logger. After a logging injury, he moved his family to Independence, Mo in 1962. Upon moving to Independence, Ralph and his family became members of the South Chrysler RLDS church and eventually charter members of the South Chrysler Restoration Branch. After retiring from a career with Independence Power and Light, he spent his remaining years growing a very large garden. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Muirhead, who passed away in 2013, his daughter, Darlene Muirhead in 2023, and his grandson, Shawn Michael. He leaves behind his daughters, Shirley MacDonald and Judi Wollenziehn, and sons, Dr. Ron Muirhead and Russell Muirhead, ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at South Crysler Restoration Branch, 16101 E. Salisbury Rd, Independence, Missouri. The family will receive friends from 10:30-11:00 a.m. and the funeral service will follow.
