Ruth Eunice Ramirez of Pflugerville, TX, passed away on January 27th, 2023, at seventy-five years old and surrounded by family. Services will be in her hometown of Kansas City. The visitation will be from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Friday, February 10th at Park Lawn Funeral Home (8251 Hillcrest Rd., Kansas City, MO), and the funeral will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 11th at Park Lawn Funeral Home with the burial to follow at Green Lawn Cemetery.

Ruth was born on July 10th, 1947, to Carmen Lopez Ramirez and Ruth Emelia Ramirez in Kansas City, MO. She graduated from Van Horn High School, Class of ’65, and she went on to earn her Associate of Arts Degree in Nursing from Penn Valley Community College, Class of ‘82. Ruth became a Board Registered Nurse by The Missouri State Board of Nursing in September 1982. She worked as an R.N. at Menorah Medical Center in Kansas City, and after moving to Texas, she worked and retired from The Lubbock City Health Department.

Ruth was an active church member of Blue Ridge Baptist Church in Independence, MO, Memorial Baptist Church in Lubbock, TX, and the First Baptist Church of Pflugerville, TX. She enjoyed singing in the choir and teaching in Sunday School classes and in the G.A.’s organization.

She was also involved in several Masonic organizations, including the Ben Hera Court, No.91 of Austin, TX, Ladies of the Oriental Shrine, of which she was High Priestess of the Ben Hera Court in 2012-2013, and the Ruh Neb Temple No. 64, Daughters of the Nile, Austin Assembly No.125, Social Order of Beauceant.

Being very family-oriented, Ruth made it a point to pour into the lives of all her nieces and nephews by providing loving support, gentle guidance in the right direction, and an ear to listen as she cheered them on in life.

Ruth is survived by her brother Charles (and wife, Carol) Ramirez of Independence, MO, her sister Elizabeth Lewis of Pflugerville, TX, her nephews Tony Ramirez of Independence, MO, Robert (and wife, Staci) Ramirez of Independence, MO, Paul (and wife Anna) Ramirez of Houston, TX, and Mark Ramirez of Lubbock, TX, and her nieces Lupe Ramirez of Kansas City, MO, and Sandra Rainwater of Lubbock, TX. And she was preceded in death by her parents, and by her brother, Daniel Ramirez, and her brother-in-law Bruce Lewis.

Our dear Ruth was short in stature but had a big heart to serve the Lord Jesus Christ and love others well. Ruth cared for her family deeply and leaves behind a strong legacy of generosity, sincerity, and conviction.
