Clayton Riley, 87, of Liberty, MO, passed away March 4, 2022, at Linden Woods Village in Gladstone.
Clayton was born October 30, 1934, in Mead, Oklahoma, one of nine children of Homer and Agnes (Willis) Riley. Clayton was a proud member of the Chickasaw Native American Nation. He graduated from high school in Mead and later served in the US Air Force from 1956 until receiving honorable discharge as Airman First Class in 1960.
Clayton's career as an Electrician at the Ford Assembly Plant in Claycomo spanned 38 years. He was a member of the UAW Local 249.
Clayton was a member and Past Worshipful Master of Liberty Masonic Lodge #31. He was a member and Past Commander of the Liberty Commandery #6 and the Scottish Rite Bodies Valley of Kansas City. Clayton was a very active member of Ararat Shrine Temple. At Ararat, Clayton was a member of the Harem and later Oriental Band units, the Amateur Radio Club, Liberty Shrine Club and served as Temple Photographer. He also served thousands of hours volunteering for the Liberty Hospital Auxiliary. Clayton was also a dual chapter member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Along with his parents, Clayton was preceded in death by seven siblings. Survivors include his spouse, Patricia "Pat" Riley; children, Tim S. Riley (Lisa), Tim E. Riley (Missy) and Lea Ann Whitley (Mark); five grandchildren and a great grandchild. He also leaves a sister, Gaylene Macon, and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Visitation will begin at 2:00 pm, followed by Masonic services and military honors at 3:00 pm, on Saturday, March 12, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, 1640 North State Route 291, Liberty, MO. Private burial will be March 14th at White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Ararat Shrine Hospital Transportation Fund, 5100 Ararat Drive, Kansas City, MO 64129.
