Morey R. Maxine Riley

Ruby Maxine Saathoff Riley Morey was born on September 18, 1923, in Vernon County, Walker, Missouri, to Henry Saathoff and Mary Ann Shuhart. Maxine was the second of seven children.

She married Arthur John Riley on November 10, 1953. The majority of her career was as a bookkeeper for Farmland Industries. Maxine and Art enjoyed spending time together at the Lake of the Ozarks, traveling and in retirement being snowbirds in Tucson, Arizona. On May 26, 2011, Maxine married long time friend David Arthur Morey. They spent time both in Harlingen, Texas, and Adrian, Missouri.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 43 years Arthur John Riley (1996), husband of 1 year David Arthur Morey (2012), brothers and sisters Lester Saathoff (1994), Aileen Hardin (1994), Marion Saathoff (1998), Della Mae Lee (2013), Rogers Saathoff (2013), and Lynn Saathoff (2016).

Maxine is survived by Stepdaughter Gail Morey Clements of Columbia, Sister-in-laws Joyce Saathoff and Vicky Saathoff of Adrian, 19 nieces and nephews, 7 stepgrandchildren, and numerous great nieces and nephews and step greatgrandchildren.

Maxine passed away February 5, 2023.

In lieu of floral tributes, donations may be made to the Alzheimers or Diabetes Association.

Visitation will be 12PM, with services to follow at 1PM, Thursday, February 9 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd., Kansas City, Missouri; private burial in Green Lawn Cemetery.
