Rita Faye Livingston

          Rita Faye (Marshall) Livingston, 86, a longtime Emporia, KS resident, passed away on May 31, 2023, at Oxford Grand at Shoal Creek in Kansas City. She died peacefully surrounded by her loving family.

          Rita was born February 16, 1937, in Carthage, MO, the seventh of eight children of Chester Floyd and Maudie (Warren) Marshall.  She lived on a farm east of Emporia during the late 70’s, 80’s and 90’s.  She worked many years for Fanestil Meats and most recently worked at Holiday Resort Nursing Home in Emporia.

          Along with her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Livingston, and siblings, Deloris, Wanda May, Morien, Cecil, Chester Jr., and Eugene.  Survivors include her son, Brian Guthrie (Joelle); step-sons, Troy Livingston (Brenda) and Chris Livingston; four grandchildren; sister, Peggy Day; and many nieces and nephews.

          A memorial service will be held at 10am on June 24, 2023, at Westside Baptist Church in Emporia, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Ascend Hospice.
