Roberta M Hatfield

Roberta ‘Bertie’ Maxine Hatfield, 93, of Peculiar, Missouri, passed away October 8, 2024, surrounded by her family at home. A celebration of her life will include a visitation at 10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral at 12noon on Saturday, October 12 at Peculiar United Methodist Church, 20521 S. School Rd., Peculiar, MO 64078. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery.

Roberta’s wonderful and blessed life began as the daughter of parents Walter Abiga and Caroline Ellen (Lawrence) Miller on Apri1 5, 1931 in Kansas City, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers and sisters, Claude Eugene, William Earl, Alta Mae, John Pierce, Mary Ellen, Clifford Delwin, Clara Bernice, Elnora Myrle, Walter Dean and Dale Wallis; husband, Orvel E. Hatfield, Jr. and son-in-law, Michael ‘Mick’ Henry.

Roberta was married to the love of her life, Orvel, for 52 years. She worked in banking and manufacturing until she retired in 1995. She loved her family and adored her daughter and grandchildren. She was gentle, kind, generous, sentimental and a great listener. She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by family and friends.

Roberta leaves her daughter Teresa Henry, two grandchildren, Zachary and Chloe Newton; a brother, Arthur Roy Miller and numerous nieces and nephews.
