Roena Belle Jennings, daughter of Ancil and Nadine Starnes Williams, was born on March 5, 1938, in Manford, Oklahoma. She peacefully entered her eternal home on February 17, 2025, in Liberty, Missouri, at the age of 86.
Raised in Kansas City, Missouri, Roena dedicated her life to Christ at the age of 10. A graduate of East High School, she carried her faith with her throughout her life, shaping the way she loved and served others.
On May 17, 1957, Roena married Billy Gene Jennings in Lebanon, Missouri. Together, they built a life centered on faith and family, welcoming three children—Phillip, Marcia, and Julia. As a devoted pastor’s wife, Roena wholeheartedly supported her husband's ministry, sharing her remarkable musical talents as a soloist, pianist and organist.
After 56 years of marriage, Roena was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Pastor Billy Jennings, who entered his heavenly home on November 29, 2013.
She leaves behind a loving legacy in her children Marcia Harvey (Jerry) of Excelsior Springs, MO; Phillip Jennings of Camden Point, MO; and Julia Rose (Reverend Samuel Rose) of Kansas City, MO. She was a cherished grandmother to Milissa Jennings Staso, Samantha Harvey Karlson, Zachariah Jennings, and Jeffery Harvey; a proud great-grandmother to Zoe Medlin, Nolan Medlin, Nicolas Jennings, Levi Jennings, Johanna Karlson, Gunner Karlson, Wade Harvey and Colt Harvey. Roena is also survived by her siste, Katherine Ficke (Robert) of Kansas City, MO; along with several nieces and nephews.
Roena will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and sister. She was a kind neighbor, a dear friend to many and a devoted homemaker. Above all, she was a woman of unwavering faith who found her greatest joy in serving the Lord and her family.
A celebration of Roena’s life will be held on Monday, March 3, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Park Lawn Northland Chapel 1640 N. MO 291 Hwy, Liberty, MO 64068, with visitation one hour prior to the service. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved Billy at Leavenworth National Cemetery at 1:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Pentecostal Church of God World Missions in Roena’s honor.
