We hope you can make it to dad's celebration of life on Tuesday at Longview Mansion. We will have some food and drinks. It will be like an open house and everyone is welcome to come and go as you please. In general dad would have wanted us to hang out, eat, and have a good time so that is the plan. Anyone is welcome.
Ronald Scott Blaich was born March 9, 1944 to Ruth Irene Gardner Blaich and Ronald Gustav Blaich. He lived in the greater Kansas City, Missouri area his entire life except for his time in the United States Air Force service where he was stationed at San Antonio, Texas; Biloxi, Mississippi; Misawa, Japan and Wichita, Kansas. He attended Kansas City Metropolitan Junior College where he met the love of his life, Patty Wachtel Blaich. Scott and Patty then attended the University of Missouri in Columbia where Scott graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. Scott and Patty were married while students at the University of Missouri. They were fortunate to be life partners for 53 years. After graduation, Scott went to work at the family-owned business, Central Industrial Sheet Metal Works, Inc. Scott and Patty had 2 sons, Ronald Matthew and Christopher Scott. These boys were the joy of Scott’s life making him so proud when they became fourth generation Blaich’s to work at CISM. Two other special people in Scott’s life were Michal (sister) and Polly (sister-in-law). Scott loved his time with his 5 grandkids; Matt & Holly’s kids - Nicholas, Lindsey and Ryan, and Chris & Mariann’s kids – Malone and Marlo. He was called PaPa ChooChoo because he took the grandkids on the Amtrack train from Lee’s Summit to Crown Center. He was the best Grandpa ever. Scott had 4 nieces and nephews Lori and Greg (Michal) and Daniel and Stephanie (Peggy). One of Scott’s passions was flying a small plane. There were so many flights over the years. Scott was definitely a people person. Spending time with his friends and family and his many cousins was always a joy for him. Scott’s legacy will be what a kind generous man he was to his family, his friends and his work associates. Scott was a friend to everyone. He will be missed.
