Ronald Eugene Burnett

Lee's Summit, Missouri

Ronald Eugene Burnett was born February 28, 1938 in Nevada, Missouri and he went home to be with our Lord and Savior on February 22, 2024.  He was the son of Ruby and Clyde Burnett.  Ronald graduated from Nevada High School and upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy and honorably served on the USS Brownson, DD868, a Gearing Class Destroyer achieving the rank of 2nd class Machinists Mate.  Ronald left Naval service early in 1961 and later met Judy Piburn in May 1961 near her parent’s home in Kansas City, Missouri.  They were married September 30, 1961 and had three children together, Travis, Andrea and Jason.  Ronald was employed at Western Electric Manufacturing Facility in Lee’s Summit as a pipe fitter.  Ronald retired after 38 years.  He and his family resided in Lee’s Summit.  Ronald and his family were members of the Longview Baptist Church.  Ronald became a prominent member of the Church and was later asked to serve as a Deacon in September, 2013.  Ronald is survived by his wife and three children, 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, brother Don and sister Kathleen.

Visitation will be 12PM, with services to follow at 1PM, Wednesday, February 28 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd., Kansas City, Missouri; burial in Green Lawn Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation.
