Liberty

Ronald Wayne Sadler, age 79, passed away unexpectedly on January 31, 2025, in Liberty, Missouri. He was born on August 16, 1945, in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, to Wilmer and Mary (Buchanan) Sadler. He was the middle child and only son, between his two sisters, Janet and Anita. He graduated from Hardin Central Highschool in 1963 and then earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Central Missouri, formerly known as Central Missouri State University, in Warrensburg, MO in 1967. Ron was united in marriage to Catherine Oyler of Hardin, MO on April 4,1987. Ron brought his son Phillip Sadler to the marriage, and Catherine brought her two daughters, Rita and Laura McGraw. Together they had a daughter, Amanda Sadler.

Ron was proceeded in death by his father Wilmer Sadler, mother Mary Sadler, sister Janet Sullinger and her husband Rodger “Tiny” Sullenger, and sister Anita Athenas. He leaves behind his beloved wife Catherine Sadler; children Phillip Sadler and spouse Natalie Sadler, Rita Reckker, Laura Butler and spouse Roderick “Rocky” Butler, Amanda Sadler Gratto and spouse Adam Walker; grandchildren Zachary Sadler, Madison and spouse Daniel Clifton, Vincent Sadler, Lucille and spouse Max Christy, Lillian Sadler, Anthony Sadler, Camille Sadler, Maximus Sadler, Rachael Sadler, Phillip Sadler, Therese Sadler, Luke Reckker, Jameson Butler, Caleb Butler; great-grandchildren Theodore Clifton, Beau Clifton and Lola Christy.

Ron spent much of his professional life working in the banking industry. He was especially proud of his contributions to the opening of two bank branches, Hardin Savings Bank (where he met the love of his life), and Concordia Bank. He also embarked in several entrepreneurial endeavors, which afforded him the opportunity to work with his family, one of his greatest joys in life, starting with developing and opening Sun Valley Park at the Lake of the Ozarks with his parents in the early 1970’s. When they retired, he purchased and ran the business with his wife and family from 1989-2004. Ron left the lake to partner with his son Phillip in opening Sadler’s Indoor Racing in 2002. He and his wife Catherine purchased and operated Steele Gym, working alongside his three daughters from 2008-2012, and then in 2012, Ron and Catherine opened the first of two Title Boxing Clubs with the help of his three daughters and son-in-law. His brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jaime and Ella Oyer, later partnered on another location. He was instrumental in the planning, development, and execution of the opening of his daughter Amanda’s salon, Salon Gratto, in 2017. He refused to retire and began another career as a Sales Rep with Fastenal from 2016-2025 which brought him a tremendous amount of pride and fulfillment. He was extremely proud of his accomplishments, winning multiple awards and prizes. He took pride in everything he did, and it was important to him to be his best and do his best in every aspect of his life.

Ron was a skilled “jack of all trades”, master of most, and was always up for a project. Working on projects with his friends and family, whether personally or professionally, was his love language. His hobbies included woodworking, racing, and watching the Kansas City Chief’s, with his family every chance he got. Ron packed more into his 79 and a half years than most could experience in multiple lifetimes. He will be immensely missed.
