Ross Todd Logan, 24, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 29, 2023.
Ross was born October 30, 1998, in North Kansas City, Missouri, the eldest of two children of Tracy Lynn (Gore) Logan and Kenneth Todd Logan. He grew up in Liberty and Kearney, attending Tri-City Christian School through third grade and then attending schools in Kearney.
As a boy, Ross was adventurous and dreamed of going into the military. He loved his family and the outdoors, including trips to North Dakota with his grandpa to hunt pheasant. Ross was an amazingly talented athlete. He grew up playing soccer on many championship soccer teams, was a champion wrestler on the Kearney wrestling team and a highly sought after kicker, as well as a safety and cornerback for Kearney football. He also had an extraordinary work ethic…always ready for a challenge and doing the job right.
Ross was an exceptional human being, loyal almost to a fault, and very protective of those he loved. Anyone who knew Ross knew his selfless, giving heart. He would do anything for anyone, and strived to make others laugh.
Ross had the most unique gift of all! When he was going through terrible hardships, instead of complaining, Ross always chose to encourage others. His resilient strength was admired by all.
Ross prayed often for family members and friends, and reminded them to keep their faith and know Jesus like he did. Ross professed his faith in Jesus at age 5 and renewed his relationship with Christ at age 17, and though he left us too early, we are comforted in knowing Ross was welcomed to heaven by his Lord and by his grandfathers, Roly Joe Logan and Al McKinley.
Ross leaves his mom, Tracy Logan; dad, Todd Logan; sister and brother-in-law, Abigail and Dylan Ritz; grandparents, Rick and Barb Gore, Karen Diltz, and Patsy McKinley; aunts and uncles, Anders and Heather Blom, Todd and Sarah Leinen, Ashley Gore, Josh and Anna Gore, Kimberly Kerr, Rob and Jill (Logan) Jackson; as well as numerous cousins, other family members and friends.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, followed by a service celebrating Ross’s life at 11:00 am, on Wednesday, August 9, at First Baptist Church of Kearney, 301 South Grove Street, Kearney, MO. Burial will follow at Glenridge Cemetery.
A scholarship in Ross’s name will be established. Donations to the fund may be made payable to Ross’s aunt, Jill Jackson.
