Rowland Hayden Anthony

August 26, 1942 — November 4, 2024

Rowland Hayden "Tony" Anthony, 82, of Indian Harbour Beach, Florida, was called to his eternal rest on November 4, 2024. Born on August 26, 1942, in Manhattan, Kansas, he was the eldest son of the late Carter and Mary Frances Anthony. Tony, also lovingly nicknamed by his siblings as Punch , lived a life exemplified by devotion to his family, his country, and his faith.

Tony's life was a testament to his unwavering work ethic and his dedication to service. He attended Southwest High School graduating in 1960. He continued his education at Kansas State University, where he received a BA in music education. In his youth, Tony worked at the local A&P grocery store, setting a strong foundation for his diverse career. He served his nation valiantly as a Marine during the Vietnam War and continued his service in the Army Reserves, retiring with the rank of Captain. His civilian career was equally varied, including roles as a janitor, carpenter, shopping center manager, educator, Correctional Officer at PBSP, and entrepreneur of 3 espresso bars.

A faithful servant of Jesus Christ, Tony was deeply involved in the life of his church. He taught Sunday school, played bass guitar for worship services, and assumed leadership roles as an elder and deacon. His commitment to his faith was evident in his eagerness to serve wherever there was a need, from men's teachings to vacation Bible School.

As the patriarch of a large and loving family, Tony's influence and guidance were immeasurable. He was a cherished son, brother to Judy, Bill, Grant, Denis, Scott, Douglas, Cathy and Debi, husband of 49 years to Adrienne, father to Mary and Christopher and their spouses Ricardo and Montze. He was grandfather to Isabel, Diego, Carter and Hayden whose legacy of love and compassion will live on through his family and those who knew him.
