Russell Charles Young

Russell Charles Young (RC), 86, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2023. 

Russell was born in Kansas City, Missouri on March 20, 1937, son of Russell C. Young and Dorothy E. Nuesse. 

Russell was a Korean War veteran and a Mason.  He had a lifelong career in construction and was a project manager and superintendent for many buildings in Los Angeles and Kansas City.  Russell was also employed as a Building Inspector for the city of Kansas City, Missouri.  He owned his own construction contractor business in South Carolina for several years.

Russell was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Judith Fry; and a child Robinn L. Young.  Survivors include his children: Micheal Young, Becky Young Plumer (Tom), Christina Young Whitman (Roger) and Roberta Allen; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and his siblings Barbara (Bobbie) Turner, Jerry Young (Barbara) and Kathie Brocato.  He is also survived by special companion Josephine (Josie) Carullo and her two grandsons.  Russell will be missed by many nieces, nephews and a host of many friends across the country.

In lieu of flowers, please make donation to Amedisys Hospice, Lenexa, Kansas.  The family expresses their appreciation for all caregivers at Amedisys and Monterey Park in Independence.

Visitation will be 12-1:30PM, with memorial services to follow at 1:30PM, Saturday, December 16 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd., Kansas City, Missouri; burial in Green Lawn Cemetery.
