Sr. Samuel J. Allison

November 17, 1946 — January 4, 2022

Samuel Joseph Allison, Sr., 75, of Gladstone, passed away January 4, 2022, at St. Luke's Northland Hospital.

Sam was born November 17, 1946, in North Kansas City, MO, the youngest of four children of Martin Dillan and Velma Alverta (Callen) Allison.

Sam served in the US Army during Vietnam, receiving honorable discharge in 1968. He was united in marriage to Sharon Diane Fox on January 27, 1967. He owned and operated Wholesale Paint in Gladstone, MO. Sam had a lifelong passion for playing softball and was a member of several softball organizations, including Kansas City Metro Senior Softball League for over 20 years and Senior Softball USA.

Along with his parents, Sam was preceded in death by siblings, Paul Allison, Jeanette Bailey and Lois Miller.

Sam leaves his wife, Sharon; children, Rene' Land-Auzat (Thomas), Lisa Zacher (Frank) and Samuel Allison Jr. (Lori); grandchildren, Nicholas Allison, Jeffrey Smalley, Anthony Allison, Philip Land, Ashlee Suddarth, Joshua Allison, Breanna Allison, Lauren Allison, and Lilly Zacher; great grandchildren, Abel, Violet, Ryder, Brexton, Bentley, Cataleya, Savannah, Vayda, Kaden, Kara and Jeffrey (George).

A special thanks to Dr. Michael J. DiBernardo who was Sam's personal physician for many years and to the St. Luke's Northland medical community that cared for Sam.

Visitation will begin at 9:30 am, followed by a service celebrating Sam's life at 10:30 am, on Thursday, January 13, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty, MO. Burial will follow at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
