Kevin A. Sanders

November 28, 1959 — July 24, 2022

Kevin Anthony Sanders was born on November 28, 1959, in Kansas City, Missouri, to the union of Charles Sanders and Carol Fambro. Kevin grew up in Midtown Kansas City with his loving mother, his grandmother who he affectionately called "Nanny" and his younger sister Karen (Lisi).

Kevin was educated in the Kansas City Public School System, a student at Southeast High School where he received his high school diploma in 1977. While in high school he participated in the arts and sports programs, ROTC and photography. Kevin comes from a longline of sports fanatics. He learned to love sports at an early age, especially baseball. He was awarded many trophies through his participation in baseball tournaments over the years. Through the good and bad, he remained a diehard Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals fan. Following high school, he studied to become a paramedic. His work career included Valentine Radford Advertising, Signature Loan and Truman Medical Center. Later in life, he fell in love with remodeling homes, a passion he shared with his best friend Dana, his brother in spirit.

Kevin was a devoted and loving father to his one and only son Jason. He was blessed with his pride and joy on November 29, 1986. He had an extraordinary love for his grandchildren, Elias and Cora.

Kevin was a 13 year survivor. After he was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, he expressed his continued love of sports through coaching baseball, football and mentoring young men. Coaching “his boys” helped him get through dialysis, chemotherapy, and the pain he endured daily.

Kevin’s infectious smile, his ability to make you feel like you were the most important person in the room and his encouraging words that would remind you that you could do anything your heart desired will be remembered by ALL. He gave his life to Christ at a early age. He attended Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church and sang in the Maranatha Choir.

Kevin peacefully departed this life on July 24, 2022, and joined his grandmother, Laura M. Fambro and his father, Charles Sanders. He is survived by his only son Jason; mother, Carol; sister, Karen (Lisi); brother, Hassan; grandson, Elias; granddaughter, Cora and a host of relatives and friends, including his brother in spirit Dana. Kevin was loved by many, and his presence will truly be missed.
