Carol Lynn Sanstra, 72 passed away peacefully October 13, 2021. Carol was born March 15, 1949 in Kansas City, MO to Linville and Georgia (Post) Renno. Carol graduated from Northeast High School in Kansas City, MO in 1967.
Carol retired from the Social Security Administration in July of 1999. After her retirement Carol worked for Bass Pro in Springfield in the phone center and also for the KRWP 107.7 FM “The Lake” Radio Station in Stockton where her and her husband, Rick moved to after he retired from the KCMO Fire Department. Carol was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Stockton.
Carol loved to embroider and made many quilts after her retirement. She enjoyed her time going to her quilting guilds and the fellowship with all her quilting friends. She also loved spending time with her grandkids and family going to Branson and Silver Dollar City. She also had a love of collecting Penguins, which she shared with her daughter.
In September of 2015 Carol moved to Raymore, MO to live with her daughter and son in-law. Where she became an active participant of Peculiar United Methodist Church. Her love for service to others led her to many ministries. She loved people and never knew a stranger. Home was home to all who knew her and she was there for many.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband Richard of 32 years, her son Robert Asbury and her parents. She leaves behind her daughter Christy and husband Jim. Daughter Cathy Lee Sanstra. Nine grandchildren, Christopher Middleton (Rachel), Dylan Middleton (Caitlin), Bryanna Middleton (Seth Fliearman), Rechyll Asbury, Cheyenne Asbury, Robert Asbury Jr., Lacaychia Key, Alexis Kendrick and William Johnson. Three great grandchildren Dylan Middleton II, Douglas Middleton and Dixie Gee. As well as her sister Sandra Crabtree (Danny). Many other family and friends that she loved dearly. She will truly be missed by all those that loved her as much as she loved them including her favorite little dog Lulu.
Visitation will be Monday, October 18th 10:00am to 11:00 am followed immediately by the funeral at Peculiar United Methodist Church, 20521 S. School Road Peculiar, MO. Graveside service at Floral Hills Cemetery 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd. Kansas City, MO following the funeral.
Flowers need to be delivered to Peculiar Untied Methodist Church after 8:00am on Monday, October 18th.
