Onda Lee Sawvell

Onda Lee Savwell, 82,of Grain Valley, Missouri passed away September 12, 2020, at her home. Visitation will be held from 12-1:30 PM, Wednesday, September 16 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd, Kansas City, MO 64138; Graveside Service at Memorial Park Cemetery at 1:30 PM.

Onda was born January 16, 1938 in Maryville, MO. She was married to LeRoy Sawvell for 46 years. She grew up in Elmo, MO and moved to the Kansas City, MO area. She was the daughter of William and Pauline (Garten) Nuckolls, the oldest of 9 siblings; Paul V Nuckolls, Diana Hutchens, Sue Manley, Billy Nuckolls, Wendell Nuckolls, Jimmy Nuckolls, Dale Nuckolls and Vicki Wisner. She had 6 children; Paula Sawvell, Donna Shoemate, Danny Sawvell, Lorie Owen, Roy Sawvell and Janet Trober . She was a member of Plaza Heights Baptist Church and a servant for God cleaning churches and homes. She loved being a housekeeper and caretaker; enjoying cooking, musicals, movies, embroidering and quilting blankets for her family. Onda touched many hearts through her generosity and her caring heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Pauline (Garten) Nuckolls; her brother, Paul V Nuckolls, her sons; Daniel Lee Sawvell, Roy William Sawvell and son-in-law; Mike Owen. Survivors include her daughter; Paula Sawvell, Donna and her husband Scott Shoemate, Lorie Owen, Janet and her husband Mike Trober. Her siblings; Diana, Sue, Billy and his wife Debbie, Wendell, Jimmy, Dale and Vicki and her husband Ed. Along with 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
