Scott Nelson Hankins

Scott Nelson Hankins passed to new life on January 23, 2024, at the age of 33. Scott was a life-long area resident and a 2009 graduate of Lee’s Summit North High School.

Scott’s favorite way to spend a Sunday afternoon was watching and cheering on HIS CHIEFS surrounded by family. He was an avid hockey player and was excited to have started playing the sport again with his father and brothers. Scott loved dogs, camping, the Chiefs; but most of all, spending time with his family. He was employed by Brightli Behavioral Health where he took great pride and satisfaction in giving to and helping others in need.

Scott is survived by his mother and stepfather Jo and Steve Wilson, his father Pat Hankins, his two brothers, Christopher and Jackson, his maternal grandmother Loretta Donaghue, his paternal grandmother Gay Hankins, his beloved niece Lilly Francis and numerous step siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

His sense of humor, bright smile and infectious laugh will be missed by all.  

A visitation is scheduled from 3:00 to 4:30 PM on Thursday February 1^st, 2024 at Lee’s Summit Christian Church, 800 NE Tudor Road, Lee’s Summit, MO 64086. Service will follow the visitation. Feel free to wear your favorite Chief’s gear; Scott will be. A private graveside service will be held for the family on Friday at Green Lawn Cemetery.
