James S. Sedgwick

James Steven Sedgwick, 59, of Liberty, passed away May 12, 2021, at K.U. Medical Center.

Steve was born June 26, 1961, at Eglin AFB, Niceville, Florida, the eldest of three children of James L. Sedgwick and Lola (Ables) Sedgwick. He grew up in Liberty, MO and attended Liberty High School, Class of 1979. He was a plumber for many years, worked for Infrasource Gas Company, and most recently for Teague Lumber.

Steve leaves children, Dean, Justin and Cassie and their families; sisters, Lori Kesner (Jeff) and Carla Oberfoell (Greg); brother-in-law, Lance Jensen; nieces and nephews, Chad Bosley (Samantha), Heather Hudnall (Vance), Debra Bennett (David), Jaime Jensen, Kristen Jensen and Patrick Kesner; as well as great nieces and nephews, other family members and many friends.

Remembering Steve's passion for NASCAR and the Kansas City Chiefs, those attending his memorial service are encouraged to wear their NASCAR or Chiefs gear. Also, you will be welcome to share a favorite story or memory of Steve.

Visitation will begin at 2:00 pm, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 pm, on Thursday, May 20, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty, MO.

Steve was very patriotic. Therefore, in lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Wounded Warriors.
