Evelyn Juanita Sexton, 81, a longtime resident of Liberty, went to be with her Lord on June 10, 2019, at her home with family at her side. Visitation will begin at 2:00 pm, followed by a service celebrating Evelyn's life at 3:00 pm, on Saturday, June 15, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty. Burial will follow in Glenridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Rainbow Girls c/o Jewell Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star in Liberty.
Evelyn was born August 14, 1937, in Wichita, KS. She was united in marriage to Ernest R. Sexton on September 2, 1955. Her career as an Intake Officer for the Clay County Juvenile Justice Center spanned more than 30 years.
Evelyn was a 50-plus year member of the Jewell Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She and Ernie attended Nebo Hill and Liberty Baptist churches. They enjoyed riding on their Harley with friends and traveled all over the country.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Beverly and Francis Alpha, and a grandson, Trevor James Sexton.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Ernest; children, Ron Sexton (Karen) of Conroe, TX, David Sexton (Deanna) of Liberty, MO, and Bill Sexton of Liberty, MO; brother, Darrell Langwell (Jodie) of Ada, OK; sister, Renee' Danks (Randy) of Enid, OK; eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, other family members and friends.
