Sharon K. Christy

Sharon K. Christy (Palmer), 81, Prairie Village, Kansas, passed peacefully on Thursday, May 18th, 2023.  Sharon was born January 28, 1942, in Kansas City, Missouri to James and Fairy Palmer.  She was a 1959 graduate of Loretto Academy.

Sharon worked for Des Marteau Investment Company for over thirty years.  In 1971, Sharon married David M Christy.  They were married until his death in 2011.

Sharon enjoyed her many pets and telling funny stories, especially about “little doggie”.  She loved reading, playing bridge, and living at Huntington Farms.   Sharon’s favorite place in the world was sitting by the pool with a glass of chardonnay in Maui.

In 2012, Sharon met Dan Dannaldson.  They have spent the last eleven years travelling to Germany, having afternoon cocktails, adopting two dogs and making a life together.

Sharon is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sister Patty Loney, her aunt, Millie Nuedorff, and her niece, Laura Bauer.  She is survived by Dan Dannaldson, her nephew Erik Bauer, Tübingen, Germany, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Kathy Bauer, Wailea, Maui and several cousins, nephews and nieces.

A heartfelt thanks to the caregivers at The Village at Mission, Monarch Hospice and Dan Dannaldson for their special care during Sharon’s final months.

A private celebration of life will be held on June 24th.
