It is with great sadness that the family of Sharon Colleen (Seery) Myers announces her passing. Sharon passed away on February 10 th at home surrounded by her family. She was born on November 24,1941 in Greeley, CO to Andrew and Charlotte Seery. She graduated from Hays High in 1959 and went on to attend Fort Hays State University. Sharon made lifelong friends as a sorority sister of Alpha Gamma Delta and a member
of the University cheerleading squad.
After college, Sharon moved to Kansas City where she would meet the love of her life, Mort Myers. Mort and Sharon were married May 20, 1967. They had a great adventure traveling, playing tennis and entertaining friends in the home they lived in for 45 years. Neighbors were like family and Sharon was well known for her ‘Hostess with the Mostess’ dinner parties. She worked every moment she could in her backyard, creating
a magical place that invited so many memories for years to come.
Sharon was known for her green thumb and gourmet cooking skills. Her favorite day of the year was ‘Plant Day’ when the family would get together and pull her nearly 70 potted plants out of their hibernation and lovingly place back in their perfect spots outside for spring and summer. Sharon was loved by many for her quick wit, honesty and fierce love of her ‘small but mighty family’. She was an avid reader and cross-word puzzle enthusiast. She enjoyed ‘Words with Friends’, watching tennis and enjoying a ‘garden beer’ after her endless list of yard chores. You always knew when it was 5pm at the Myers’ – Mort and Shar would be having a glass of wine on the side deck enjoying their own personal happy hour. Sharon is survived by her Husband, Mort Myers, Daughter, Kym Myers (Gary), Son, Scott Myers (Katie), Sister, Karen Giebler (Gale), Brother-in-law Chip Myers, Niece, Morgan and cat Booker.
