Marva J. Sherman

March 24, 1943 — November 8, 2020

Marva Jean (Crawford) Sherman, 77, passed peacefully from this life and went home to join the rest of her family in eternal peace and happiness on Sunday November 8, 2020.

Marva Sherman, was born March 24, 1943 in Kansas City, Missouri. She later moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where she attended school in the Oklahoma School District. She later made her way back to Kansas City where she met and married the love of her life Billie Sherman of Pine Bluff, Ark. To this union 3 daughters was born. Juanita Smith (Tim), Gwen Sherman, and Veronda Williams (James) all of Kansas City.

Marva was also preceded in death by her husband Billie Sherman, Mother Juanita (Crawford) Thompson, sister Barbara Stephens, sister Ardena Sowell, brother Jerry Crawford, Grandson Brian Sherman and Granddaughter Waukesha Jones. Marva worked at International Paper Company for 30 years before retiring to enjoy the rest of her days devoted to loving her family. She was a picture-perfect mother. She was Mom, Best Friend, Mentor and always ready to put on the superwoman cape to rescue. I know without a doubt God gave us the best.

Marva was a lifelong member of Concord Fortress of Hope Church under the leadership of Pastor Ronald Lindsay. She leaves to cherish beautiful memories: her three daughters. A loving brother Charles Williams, Sister Geri McDonald, Sister Cindy Holland, precious grandchildren Kiara Sherman, Keith Holland Jr., Todd Smith, Ashley Smith, Tim Reese. And many Great Grandchildren along with a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be 9-10:30AM, Monday, November 16, 2020 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd. Due to COVID restrictions, the services to follow will be private. Burial will be in Twelve Gates Cemetery.
