Michael W. Shine

Michael W. Shine, age 94, passed away October 27, 2018. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Friday, November 2, 2018, at Park Lawn Funeral Home.

Mike was born August 24, 1924, in Kansas City, MO, to Michael A. and Opal (Scruggs) Shine. He was valedictorian of his high school graduating class.

Mike served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Upon his discharge, he started his career as an electrician, and later joined the IBEW Local No. 124 where he excelled as Training Director. He was an avid golfer throughout his life, enjoyed taking his boat out on Lake Lotawana and traveled extensively with Evelyn. Together they spent 34 years laughing and causing trouble wherever they went.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Shine. Survivors include his son, Greg Jenkins; and his stuffed pet orangutan, Wooly Booger.
