Garry E. Shippert

Garry Edward Shippert, 68, a longtime Liberty resident, passed away February 27, 2020, at John Knox Care Center in Lee's Summit with family at his side.

Garry was born July 15, 1951, in Lebanon, MO, the eldest of four children of S.H. "Tony" and Betty (Good) Shippert. He graduated from Liberty High School in 1969. Garry was united in marriage to Linda Kathleen "Kathy" Hake on September 4, 1971. Garry owned and operated Fightmaster Plumbing and Heating Company in Liberty for 50 years.

Garry was preceded in death by his father, Tony Shippert. He leaves his wife of 48 years, Kathy; children, Bryon Shippert and Sarah Lawrence (Joshua); grandsons, Alexander and Corbin; mother, Betty Shippert; siblings, Terry Shippert (Cathy), Shari Pitts (Daryl) and Cary Shippert (Cindy); as well as nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

A visitation celebrating Garry's life will be held from 5-7 pm Monday, March 9, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
