Shirley Willard

Shirley A. Wanstreet was born October 21, 1936, in Salem, West Virginia, to Ivan and Catherine (Daniels) Wanstreet. She departed this life at the age of eighty-eight on February 11, 2025, while at Life Care Center in Grandview, Missouri.

In 1954, she graduated from Northeast High School in Kansas City, Missouri, and began working as a switchboard operator for AT&T.

Shirley married Daryl Willard in 1960 and together they had two children, Tammy and Timothy. After Tammy was born, Shirley became a stay at home mom, and from 1969 to 1987 she and Daryl were pastors of Bunch Pentecostal Church in Bunch, Iowa, Messenger Chapel in Richmond, Missouri, and were District Youth Directors. Shirley loved spending time with her family, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. She cared deeply for them all.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her brothers, Jack, Ivan Jr., Billy, Tommy and Bobby and sisters, Francis and Ruth.

She is survived by two children: Tammy and Warren Aswell of Gardner, Kansas, Timothy and Ameka of Greenwood, Missouri; three grandchildren: Nathan and Samantha Aswell, Jonathan and Sierra Aswell, and Micah and Maria Willard; eight great-grandchildren: Austin, Evalynn, Amiyah, Eve, Malachi, Everly, Jada and Giavanna, her sister Barbara Sue and Robert LaMar of Florence, Alabama; and several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Services for Shirley will be held:

Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Full Gospel Assembly. 10537 E. 6th St. S. Independence, MO 64053.

Visitation will begin at 11:00am followed by the Service at 12:00 noon. 

Please have any flowers delivered to the church after 9:00am on Saturday February 22, 2025
