Delores L. Smith

Delores Lavonne Smith, 84, passed away June 9, 2021, at John Knox Village East in Higginsville, MO.

Delores was born July 27, 1936, in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Oscar and Billie (Thompson) Burns. She worked for Hallmark for 20 years, retiring as a Section Manager.

Along with her parents, Delores was preceded in death by an infant son, Joseph Wayne Swafford; brother, Kenneth Burns; sisters, Roberta Graskemper and Coletta Conner; as well as a half sister and two half brothers.

Survivors include four children, Donna L. Cason of Richmond, MO, Wesley J. Swafford (Donna) of Nixa, MO, Anita L. Swafford of Richmond, MO, and Valerie D. Dueker of Excelsior Springs, MO; nine grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She also leaves three sisters, Mary Barnett of Parkville, MO, Martha Gardner of Crystal Lakes, MO and Ann Wingender of Springfield, MO; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, followed a funeral service at 11:00 am, on Sunday, June 20, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty, MO. Committal service will follow at Richmond Memory Gardens, Richmond, MO.
