Judith L. Smith

Judith Lea Smith, 83, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away peacefully on July, 25th, 2020.

Judith was born in Kansas City, MO on September 20, 1936 to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Speight. She graduated from Center High School, and immediately entered the work force. She spent many years working in the financial sector of the oil industry and then transitioned to retail banking until retirement.

Judith was married to Jerry Smith, on December 3rd, 1955. They met at a high school football game. Jerry noticed Judith in the stands and knew he would marry her someday. They were happily married for 47 years and had one daughter, Kathryn. Following retirement they chased the warm weather. After a few years in Texas, Jerry and Judith settled in Las Vegas, NV to enjoy the excitement of the city. Judith spent her free time reading novels, working Sudoku puzzles, playing video poker and catching up with friends at the local beauty salon.

Judith is survived by her daughter, Kathryn (Alan), her grandchildren, Jessica (Brad), Holly, Patrick, and her great grandchildren, Caleb and Cameron. Judith is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry.

Graveside services will be held at 10AM on August 20th, 2020 at Green Lawn Cemetery, 8251 Hillcrest Rd, Kansas City, MO.
