To Mother Sowell and Family, I am so grateful and thankful to God that he has allowed me to be part of such a loving and God fearing family. I love you guys because you have accepted my daughter as if she is part of your family. You have also treated me the same. Mother Sowell, when I thought about Deacon Sowell, I also thought about Enoch and this scripture came to mind. Genesis 5:24 “ And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.” Genesis Chapter 5 tells us Enoch lived to be 356 years old and he had walked with God all of his life. God rewarded him by abruptly taking him to live eternally with God, and this is exactly what God also did for Deacon Sowell. The times I have encountered Deacon Sowell he always had an encouraging word for me. Sometimes he would be very serious and other times very humorous. I always admired his relationship with his children and with you. His life portrayed that He was definitely a man who had a heart for God. He did a wonderful job being an example for his children to follow and it so evident that Deacon Sowell made sure his children had a strong belief in God and it shows in each and every one of their lives. I believe Deacon was a man after God’s own heart like David, a devoted servant to God like Job and full of wisdom like Soloman. So, because of Deacon Sowell’s Godly attributes, God set an appointment for Deacon Sowell just like he did Enoch. God gave Deacon Sowell a specific appointment Date and Time to meet him. And Deacon Sowell knew he could not be late, so he had to leave abruptly. But Deacon Sowell also knew it was okay for him to leave suddenly because he knew his family would understand why he had to leave, where he was going and who he would be with for eternity. When God sets your appointment you have no other choice but to keep it and sometimes when God call you, you don’t always have the opportunity or time to say your good-byes. So Deacon Sowell knew his family would understand so he took God’s Hand as they walked into eternity. Mother Sowell I am so sorry I could not be there to Celebrate the Life of Deacon Sowell because I am in Florida working. But I could not allow this chance to pass by without giving you some words of encouragement. I will be praying for you and your family. And let me leave you with just a few words from one of my favorite songs, “God Is….. God is my light in a time of darkness. God Is my all and all….” May God Bless you and keep you. Love Jeri

John Soul was my second dad. He was a man of God and was kind and loving. I had the greatest respect for him and admired the husband, deacon and father he was. I know he is resting in heaven and looking down on his family and church. Love everlasting.

John Soil was a wonderful man who helped everyone he knew. He never complained about hard work. He was always willing to give someone a chance at a job. I personally worked for him to provide for my family. I remember him being a big man with a loud chuckle. He made everyone smile around him. He will be greatly missed. Rest in Peace “Big John”!

Words cannot express the heartache I felt when I found out about my dearest Uncle John. What I can express is all the great memories that I have with him. From seeing him in front of New Hope Baptist church as a Deacon every Sunday morning (he never missed a Sunday). To the memories that have being in his convenience store playing video games as a little girl with my father Donald Jones on Saturday's. He always had a million dollar smile and the warmest hugs! My Uncle John was the sharpest dresser, smartest business man, entrepreneur, property manager, man of GOD, provider, faithful husband, dedicated father and all the things that are hard to find in a man today. He was a great example of what a real man is. They don't make men like him anymore! He is the original and never to be forgotten or replaced. One thing I know for sure is that we will see him again in HEAVEN!! He served the Lord everyday of his life and he showed us the heart of Jesus through his life. WE LOVE YOU UNCLE JOHN! Until we meet again in Heaven. Your neice~ Donnica Jones, Malachi and Jabez
