Linda was born October 27, 1948, the daughter of Erman and Mae Coulter. She graduated from Argentine High School, Class of 1966. In July of 1966, she married the love of her life, the slightly grumpy, Ronnie Sparks. Ronnie and Linda lived near his family on the West Side until 1976 when they lost their house to a fire and moved to Overland Park where Linda continued to live until 2017 when she moved in with her daughter after a fall triggered dementia. As a young girl and into adulthood Linda attended William Jewell Baptist Church where she was saved by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Linda was always working and was proud to work for Hass-Wilkerson for 40 years, from 1973 – 2013. Ronnie was a Shriner and Linda joined him as a Tin Lizzy and had a lot of fun at their various events. She was always beautifully put together. Her hair, makeup, and clothes were always flattering. Linda was most content listening to music, dancing with her son-in-law, John, and eating ice cream. She was a talented baker and we will all miss her Chocolate Chip Cookies.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Erman and Mae Coulter, her husband Ronnie “Sparkie” Sparks and her brother-in-laws Raymond Sparks and Rick Stubbs, and beloved dog, Sparkie. Linda is survived by her daughters Ronda Mikessell (Kurt) and Lisa Kirk (John) of the home; five grandchildren, Russell, Cody, Cory, Lauren and Roni Lyn; three great grandchildren, Lena, Noah, Kruz; brothers Larry (Sherry) Coulter, Carl Coulter; sister Sheryl (Tony) Turner; and sister-in-laws, Nancy (Gary), Lula and Nita; six niece, eight nephews; several great nieces and nephews.
