Lonnie Spearman

February 29, 1932 — October 15, 2020

Lonnie Spearman was born February 29, 1932 in Hodge, MO to the union of Alonzo Alfred King and Laura Frances King. She passed October 15, 2020. Her parents, her husband, one sister, one daughter, one son and three grandsons preceded her in death.

Lonnie accepted Christ at a young age. She was an active member of Canaan Missionary Baptist Church. She faithfully served as a member of the sanctuary choir, the deaconess board and the usher board. She received her formal education at Douglas School in Lexington, MO. She later moved to Kansas City, MO in 1954 where she continued her education receiving her LPN license. She later retired from private duty nursing after many years of service.

In 1948, Lonnie was united in marriage to Leon Harris Jr. of Lexington, MO. To this union, six children were born. She later married Mancy Spearman Jr. of Kansas City, MO. Lonnie captured all with her love and kindness. Her greatest joy was giving of herself and what she had to others. Lonnie is survived by one brother, James A. Hanner, stepmother Helen Owens, four daughters Sharon L. Harris, Wilma J. Harris, Rise C. Harris and Margaret A. Spearman, three sons Christopher A. Harris (Kecia), Randy L. Spearman and Derrick Spearman, 21 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 9-10:30AM, Friday, October 30, 2020 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd. Due to COVID restrictions, the services will be private. Lonnie will be buried next to her husband Mancy at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Grain Valley, MO.

Service Information:

Visitation will be 9-10:30AM, Friday, October 30, 2020 at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd. Due to COVID restrictions, the services will be private. Lonnie will be buried next to her husband Mancy at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Grain Valley, MO.
