Earl W. Stafford

Earl William Stafford 92, of Independence, MO passed away Monday, November 5, 2018. Earl was born on January 29, 1926 in Roosevelt, Oklahoma, the son of Orville and Gladys (Thacker) Stafford. He married Sylvia Loretta Hash on July 29, 1944. He loved the Lord and his family. He served his church in a variety of positions in addition to being Sunday School Superintendent and Board Member most of his life. He was a brake and front-end mechanic over 30 years at Firestone Tire and Rubber Company.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, wife Sylvia and 1 brother. He is survived by daughter Betty Hawk, son David and his wife Peggy, 4 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He also is survived by 4 sisters.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Redwood of Carmel Hills Nursing Home for their care and kindness devoted to Earl over the last few years. Also, they would like to thank Ascend Hospice for their exceptional care during his final days.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 -11:00am on Saturday, November 17, 2018 with a memorial service following at 11:00am at EPIC Church in Independence, Missouri where he was a member.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to EPIC Church. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to The Warriors Journey, a ministry to veterans and their families in memory of Earl. This is a ministry that touched Earl’s life in a special way.

Earl W. Stafford, 92, passed away November. 5, 2018. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, with memorial service at 11:00 am, Saturday, November 17, at EPIC Church, 19260 E 50th Terrace, Independence, MO 64055.
