David Lee Stanton

David L. Stanton, 86, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2019. Visitation will be held from 5:00-6:00 PM on Friday, June 28, followed by a funeral service at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Road. A graveside committal with military honors will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 29 in Memorial Park Cemetery.

David was born April 23, 1933, to Henry A. and Elda May (Henry) Stanton in Denver, Missouri.  David began his career by enlisting in the Army and was stationed in Alaska. In 1955 he married the love of his life, Judith Rose Lunsford. He worked as a purchasing agent for Seaboard Allied Milling Company in Lenexa, Kansas for 45 years. David was a fantastic fast-pitch softball pitcher, an avid fisherman, hunter, golfer and loved the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs!  But most of all he was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He was dealt some difficulties with his health later in life but he never complained. His attitude for life was commendable.

   David is preceded in death by his wife, his parents and brother, Ross LeRoy Stanton. He is survived by his children, Mike Stanton (Teresa), Gwen Stanton and Tim Stanton (Valerie); brother, Kenneth Stanton (Paula); 8 grandchildren, 4 bonus grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.  David is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.
