My Dearest Aunt Lorraine Stevenson was most precious to me. I loved spending time with her helping her when she would let me. Our Saturday's together were mostly social keeping her company. Sharing food, fun and love. Aunt Lorraine will always have a special place in my heart ♥

Two of the sweetest women I’ve know were my grandma Flossie and my Aunt Loraine. Their aren’t many people on this earth that when you walk into a room you can feel their smile radiate the room with warmth and comfort but they had that affect.

Everyone should have an Auntie like my Aunt Loraine 🌺 She was 12 years old when I came along. She Always wanted to know what I was doing especially during my College years! When I pledged and became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority (AKA) she wrote this poem for me. It said as much about my Aunt Loraine as it did me. The poem> “The Pink Tea Rose” Look at me, don’t rush… Take your time; look at me, what do you see? Do you see only the relics with which I’m usually showered? Just a delicate – lovely flower soon to wither and die; The Pink Tea Rose… Don’t… See me as life. I was once a firm flawless bud and none too soon I’m a lady now, I’ve bloomed…The Pink Tea Rose. I thirstily welcomed each crystal drop of the morning dew that nourished me. I withstood the odds, kept my face thrust to the sun, And as my petals unfolded revealing all my capabilities…my pistil runneth over and spilled forth my fragrance. If each AKA. can be a little like me; you will be as strong, your life as full as the delicate looking Pink Tea Rose🌹 —by Iva Loraine Stevenson. This Auntie was like a second mom, one of my Sheroes. She will be missed…Never forgotten…Always loved by my family.
